Choose the Right Season & Duration

Plan your Manaslu trek around the best Himalayan trekking seasons. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) generally offer the most stable weather, clearer mountain views, and favorable trail conditions. The region can be visited in other seasons, but winter brings snow and freezing temperatures at higher elevations, while the summer monsoon can make lower trails wet and challenging. Allow enough time for the journey, especially if your itinerary includes Larkya La Pass or Tsum Valley.

Prepare for Altitude & Remote Mountain Conditions

Manaslu takes you from subtropical foothills to high Himalayan terrain, with the Larkya La Pass reaching around 5,106 m. Prepare with warm layered clothing, waterproof gear, sturdy trekking boots, and a suitable sleeping bag. Gradual acclimatization, good hydration, travel insurance, and proper physical preparation are essential. Because the region is remote and facilities become basic at higher elevations, travelling with an experienced local guide is highly recommended.
